Montecristo brand cigars were first made at the H. Upmann factory in 1935, as Alonso Menendez bought a cigar factory in Cuba with faiths of stablishing a new outstanding cigar brand. it was popular that cigar rollers have the famous Alexandre Dumas novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" read by lector while they rolling the cigar. this tradition Inspired Menendez to name this cigar brands “Montecristo”. It is the most recognized and sought-after cigar brand throughout the world and gained admiration due to their special flavor, sharp aroma and high quality. the Montecristo line was extremely restricted, with only 5 vines numbered from 1 to 5, but today there is a whole variety to satisfy all tastes by using the best tobacco leaves from Vuelta Abajo region, like Montecristo 1935 Maltes, Open Master, Edmundo’s, Petit Edmundo and more.
